Earlier this year, England Football invited us to help bring the 2025 Grassroots Football Awards to life, celebrating the unsung heroes who drive community football forward.
Winners were honoured at Wembley Stadium at an awards ceremony before the Community Shield Final and were given a unique opportunity to walk onto the pitch at halftime, embracing their deserved national recognition.
We celebrated each award winner’s journey, from decades of Saturday morning marshalling to building inclusive mini-leagues. To ensure their achievements were recognised, we issued a national press release alongside 12 regional versions, tailored to spotlight winners in their hometown communities.
At Wembley, we coordinated media attendance and organised interviews with winners, making sure broadcasters and journalists could capture the emotion and context of each individual story. We also shared authentic short clips and “hero spotlights” across Instagram, X, and TikTok, creating authentic content that proved to be powerful and personal.
Our successful campaign delivered regional press features in key local outlets, national broadcast and print coverage, as well as social engagement with influencers attending to capture the event
By focusing on real stories, local identity, and heartfelt authenticity, MatchFit helped elevate the 2025 FA Grassroots Football Awards from a presentation to a moving celebration.
Together with England Football, we ensured the volunteers driving the game at its foundation were seen, heard, and valued.
